The Bold and the Beautiful: AH Spotlight shines on Tiffany Pratt

We’re just going to go ahead and say it – the world needs more Tiffany Pratt. Her motto is ‘hustle hard, love huge’, she lives for all things glittering and bright, and she has the power to spread a little (or a lot of) magic wherever she goes. A modern renaissance woman, she does it all; designer, fashionista, stylist, speaker, TV personality, artist and author of her new book, “This Can Be Beautiful.” During her visit to YYC, we were lucky enough to chat with Tiffany about her passion to make the world a more beautiful place, one moment at a time.

Amanda: Who is your fairy godmother?
Tiffany: Diana Vreeland! She’s a visionary, didn’t use a budget, no expense was spared and she was unconstrained when making her dreams come to life. Her work was perfectly imperfect.”

A: What advice would you share for people who live in a neutral world, scared of using colour?
T: Purchase items that are impermanent, inexpensive and easy to swap out if you tire of a certain hue. Look at your wardrobe for inspiration, as you might have a secret love affair with colour that you didn’t even realize was there

We first discovered Tiffany Pratt when we stumbled upon her beautiful décor at Toronto’s Piano Piano, and the rest, as they say, is history. We’re endlessly inspired by her bold adaptation of colour, and her ability to see the potential for beauty in everything.

Hot off the press and inked by Tiffany herself, we couldn’t be more excited to get our hands on a copy of “This Can Be Beautiful.”

Born in Paris, Diana Vreeland was a well-respected columnist and editor within the fashion industry. She worked at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue and was named in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1964. With a line of home and beauty products dedicated in her honour, “Vivaciously Bold” is the perfect way to express the talent of both Pratt and Vreeland.

Look for colour that makes you happy and buy anything from throw pillows to a kitchen aid mixer. Our favourite advice, adding coloured trim to drapery – sounds like a perfect night of crafting gone wrong, wine included.
